Event Codes: Basics

Event Codes are a great way to customize each event for your guests, while controlling access and/or discounts on each ticket level. You can create event codes on a single event basis or by using the multi-event tool to apply them to multiple events at the same time.

There are three different types of event codes:

Presale: gives access to a specific ticket level(s), prior to the general public receiving access

Passcode: unlocks and gives access to a specific ticket level(s) that cannot be seen by anyone without the code

Promocode: provides a discount upon checkout

Presale and Passcodes are designed to give the purchaser access to the ticket level(s) and are entered PRIOR to selecting their tickets.
Promocodes are designed to give the purchaser discounts and will be entered AFTER selection of their tickets.

 Notes on Event Codes

  • Code length: Minimum is 1 character and maximum is 24 characters

  • Codes are not case sensitive

  • The same code cannot be used more than one time within a single event.

  • The ability to enter a code on an event will only show if there is an active code created and available.

Event Codes: Single Events

Ticket Level: select the ticket level(s) that this event code will be valid for

Code Option

  • Single Code: adding a single code that can be used as many times as you’d like (Example: Bulldogs2024!)

  • Upload Code Batch: adding a group of codes with the same settings (to bulk upload codes, a CSV file (spreadsheet) must be used with all of the desired codes unformatted, all in column A of the file, and without a header)

  • Generate Random Codes: adding a group of codes with the same settings (can generate up to 1000 random codes automatically). These codes can be exported to a spreadsheet and then disseminated as needed

Discount: applies to Promocodes only

  • Enter either a percentage (100%) or amount ($5.00). The % sign or $ sign must be used. This is the amount that will be taken off the price of the ticket.

Date Start: date/time the code(s) can be used

  • Presale code times must occur prior to the ticket level start time to function properly

Date End: date/time the code(s) expire

Quantity: Total overall number of tickets the code can be used for across all orders, no matter how many times the code has been entered. (Example: the first 50 fans to use the code get a discount, after it’s used 50 times across all ticket orders, it will be invalid)

Max Per Cart: number of tickets per order the code is valid for (Example: only 2 tickets per cart can get $5.00 off the ticket price)

Event Codes: Multi-Events

  1. Filter and load events by searching Venue, School, Department or Team

  2. Select desired Events and Ticket Levels for the multi event code

  3. The events you are creating the Event Codes for must be selected as one of the events included.

  1. Once the events/ticket levels the code applies to have been selected, just create the Event Code using the same steps above

Pro-Tip: If you duplicate an event, the codes will also carry over to the new event!
