How to Change Ownership of Your Stripe Account
The first step in changing ownership is to answer the following question:
Do you know or can you contact the Stripe account owner?
If the answer is yes, please reach out to customer@hometownticketing.com or your dedicated Client Success Manager for assistance.
If the answer is no, please follow the options below!
If the Stripe Account Owner is no longer with the company, then a request must be sent to Stripe to change the account owner.
Section 1: How to Create Your Letterhead
To make this change, Stripe will require that you fill out the information below on your official company letterhead:

We at the [Name of institution], we are writing today to request that the role of account owner, be transferred from [Previous account owner full name] to [New account owner name]. The original owner of our Stripe account is no longer with our organization, and we no longer have access to our Stripe account.
We need to confirm the change of the Company Representative and Stripe account owner for our Stripe account according to the information below:

Things to keep in mind for your Letter and personnel:
The person who holds the title of Company Representative MUST also be the person who controls the Owner Administrator login for the Stripe account.
The letters' signatory CANNOT be the same person who is being appointed as the new Account Owner and Representative.
I.E., if the CEO is being appointed as Company Representative, please have a board member or other member of the C-Suite sign and authorize the letter.
Finally, ensure that you fill in the sections highlighted in yellow on the letter template.
Section 2: How to Contact Stripe Support
Click here to submit a request to Stripe Support to begin your account recovery process.
Step-by-step walkthrough on how to contact Stripe for this issue:
Click on I can’t sign in.
From here, a window should pop up on the right-hand side of your screen. Select the option that says Change Stripe account owner:
The chat will populate, please select - No
The next prompt to select will be - 📧 Email support agent * 24h
From here, you will see the box below populate in the chat window. From here, the person who is looking to make themselves the account owner should place their email in the “Your Email” window.

For the section “Provide details about what you need help with” : please provide the following information in the text field.
I am writing today to request that the role of account owner, be changed to my email and have prepared a letter head as the original owner of our Stripe account is no longer with our organization. We no longer have access to our Stripe account, and would like to get the transfer ownership of the account to someone who is currently with our business.
When the Stripe Support agent reaches out, please do one of the following options to upload your completed letterhead (for instructions on how to create, please see the above section).
A) Request from support for an upload link to provide your filled-out change of ownership letterhead.
B) Attach the letter as an attachment in a follow-up response with Stripe support.
Regardless of what method you use, a response from Stripe Support should be given within 24 hrs.
Once Stripe approves of the ownership change, the new account owner will receive an email from Stripe with instructions on how to join the account. If needed, the new owner can remove the previous owner from the account, a functionality which will be included in further articles.
