How To Connect A Stripe M2 Credit Card Reader with the Hometown Gate App
Step-by-Step Setup for Wireless Connection (iPhone & Android)
Open the Hometown Gate App
Locate the app on your device and tap to open it.Log In
Enter your:Client ID
Username
Password
(Use either your Box Office credentials or credentials set up for your event staff.)
Select Your Event
Choose the event you’re working and tap Sell Tickets.
⚠️ Important:
Stripe M2 readers cannot be paired with multiple devices at once.
If the reader was previously used with another device you may be required to ‘Forget this Device’ or turn off the Bluetooth settings on the other device.
Power On the Reader
Press the power button on the Stripe M2 reader.Connect in the App
Tap the card reader icon in the header of the Gate App.
When the reader appears in the list (identified by its serial number), select it and tap Done.
Pairing Request
If a Bluetooth Pairing Request pops up, tap Pair.Do NOT pair the reader via your device’s Bluetooth settings—use only the app.

How to Use Stripe M2 Credit Card Readers with USB-C (Android only)
You can also connect Stripe M2 credit card readers directly to your Android device using a USB-C cable.
What You’ll Need
A USB-C cable with data transfer capability. This can be:
The same cable that came with your M2 reader (used for charging) paired with an adapter (example adapter).
Any double-sided USB-C to USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
