How To Connect A Hotspot

  1. Ensure that the hotspot is charged.

  2. Turn on the hotspot and allow it to sit for a few minutes so that it can obtain a signal from the nearby cell towers.

  3. Once the hotspot indicates that it has obtained a signal, navigate to the settings menu on your phone/tablet that you wish to connect to.

    • Android: Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi → Select the Network → Enter Password

    • iOS:  Settings → Wi-Fi → Select the Network → Enter Password

    • Your Network Name and Password should not have changed since they were originally sent to you. Those can be found either on the top/inside of the hotspot's box, or in the email that included your tracking information. If you need further assistance, please contact Hometown Support.

  4. Once you have entered the password, you should now be connected to the hotspots network and have access to the internet.

  5. It is recommended that you stay within approximately 15 feet of the hotspot for best results.

  6. Most hotspots can support approximately 15 devices being connected to them.

    • It is recommended to only connect as many devices as you require to operate your gate. The more devices that are connected, the slower the connection will be.

    • If you are having trouble connecting additional devices to the hotspot network, you may be at the maximum allowed device limit. Please check your specific model, or contact HT for additional help.
